My Uncle Chuck was quite
an inspiration for my mom,
who later became my inspiration.
The Black Gibson my mom is playing was purchased from Bob Wills (Texas Playboys).
It was destroyed in a fire in 1974 while being repaired at a music store owned by
Phil Barnum. It was a sad loss. I took lessons on that guitar for a year and a half
at age 8. My mom started playing and singing in bands when she was 15. She
had everything it took to make it along side Patsy Cline, Lorretta Lynn and the
others except for the ability to stay strong.
Her life has been my lesson in life. Stay Strong!

My mom actually,
got me started on guitar at 8. I got really board playing from
a book and eventually dropped it. A couple months later I heard
Wipe Out on the radio and flipped.

1956 Hammond Chord Organ. And, I still have it!
It is a beautiful piece of furniture as well.

I guess I've already had my 15 minutes of fame?
That same year, in 1967 after my parents divorced, my dad dropped me
off at The Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix (all by myself mind you)
to see my first concert. For $3.50, I saw Iron Butterfly,The Birds, The Standells,
Sweetwater, Blue Cheer, and The Chambers Brothers.
Not bad! Lots of Hippies!
